Unit 3 .Insects life



Since we had feedback, we listened the positive comments and the comments to improve, we are acquiring more knowledge and learning one from each other. The class was start breaking the ice in the third unit with vocabulary. The teachers will be presented by a nice materials, colorful flashcards and good size. I had learned that it have an impact in the children, because it catch their attention. In the Communicative Language Teaching a principle state that authentic materials are helpful for them and Dr. Garza denoted that:”Authentic materials present special challenge for beginning teachers, and it make them appropriately for the classroom”. This means that the sucess of the class will depend in the materials that teachers use. In addition, Students were  monitored by the teachers. Studentes were working in the task. None were distrative or inquiet .Teachers  need to check if the students are working in the right way. Is important to take in account this because some of them don’t work for many reasons or they are doing in a wrong way.Besides, the target language was used in the classroom. commands where used in the right  moment when some students were talking some words in spanish.Is important to remain them in English  because it allows them to get familiar with the language . Furthermore, we need to be careful when we teach grammar not teach only form which refers to the mechanic of the language.Students must understand the sentence structure of a specifict grammar rule,and understand the pronunciation of a word. Consequently,the meaning  refers the mental image and comprehension that is generated by the grammar. It refers that form and meaning are linked. Teaching grammar is a challenge and teachers should encourage to applied in the proper way.Is so important to mention that in the area of time management, some teachers tend to lose the control. We should start early the class and finish the class on time beacuse it affect the time of  class to the other teacher and the time management dependece the succes of the class that all the activities are done. In conclusion, in these three units of teaching practicum we had been learned by our own experiences and from each other. It helps us to grow up as futures teachers but something that I would like to know how to have creativity for implement some activities in the listening.

Unit 2.Great outfit

Starting the second unit, we were noticed some situations that happened before in the previous classes and they have being received feedback and taking account some wrong situations that tends to happen in the class. Well, we were expected, the numbers of the students we have and also the level of English and how to adapt them in an easier way. However, errors of pronunciation were made by us. I learned that pronunciation has a power influence in students when they learn pronunciation of new words. So that, we need be careful in the area of pronunciation this is probably one of the hardest skills in English to learn and as a future teachers we need to be careful in that area. It is a challenge for us. Furthermore, a good displacement is important in the classroom, because it helps teachers to observe all the students and keep the attention in all of them. I would like to mention that the use of technology is helpful for teachers. We need to be aware with the use of technology as a useful tool in the classroom. The class was presented by slides in a power presentation and it was so effective because all of the students were pay attention and the topic was well explained. In addition , the activities well planned have an impact in the students ,such as audio lingual method says  that teacher is the responsible of providing diversity of activities in the classroom .Using creative activities as in warm up and in wrap up allows students to be perceptive with the vocabulary. The last activity in the warp up in grammar class was really nice .As an observers we really enjoyed it. In contrast to this, we need to look for the best option to make some activities because some students were distractive when they are participating as whole group and not all of them are participating. Also is important to mention a little mistake as a teacher we commit saying “Shhhhh” as means of quieting students but is not a professional form to stop students to talk. We learned that we can find different ways such as: ring a bell, touch the board, desk, raised the hands etc. In the area of time management, teachers controled it. We should start early the class and finish the class on time even if some activities are omitted. Also, we noticed that some activities in the reading class would be presented in another way in order to get the aim of the activity and children can catch the objective. I would like to know is how to include the correct and effective activities in during listening and during reading and get the aim of the activity with the students.

Unit 1. My family.

The first class in teaching practicum started with good expectations. I had had a previous experience in the micro teaching with children. It helped us a lot with children. In the first week of practicum I really noticed that preparing lesson plans and teaching the class is totally different. Naturaly, the first day of class always create some nervousness and anxiety. Teachers tend to commit mistakes. Some mistakes was made in the class  such as speaking in advance level because they  don’t pay attention to the English level of the students instead of  they should speak less. The activity made in the the warm up was kind of hard understand to the students, they need to use gestures with hands and face or use visual materials. We can use gestures and mime in many ways because of students need to understand the teachers indication. Moreover, the tone of the voiced was a problem .Is important to project the voice. Ingrid Viera a blogger teacher stated that: “The teachers’ voice needs to be effective in a variety of circumstances”. Teachers need to be audible. Students at the back of the class must be able to hear them as well as those who are in the front.  
In the other hand, we had learned that keeping the energy high and being creativity with your lesson will make your students more attentive. To be a dynamic teacher is so important, students feel in a comfortable environment. Children enjoy the moments when the class is interactive, some of the teachers in the second class were really dynamic and they catch the student’s attention in an easier way. One of the teachers applied some words such as: very good! Excellent! , and one of the principles of Audio Lingual Method refers that teachers should give a positive reinforment because students feel motive and they are more perceptive to participle in the class. Those things helps us to improve as a future teachers .I would to like to known  if use of real material sometimes it can interrupt the activities and get students distractive.
