Unit 5. Toyland



UNIT 5.TOYLAND
We starting the last unit of teaching practicum with vocabulary. In my personal opinion, the class was not difficult, howeder we had some observations .Firts , teachers shouldn’t repeat activites in the warp up, because those activities will not as effectively as the first time, because children tend to get bored easily and they need to provided by diversy of creativity ideas.Futhermore, in vocabulary is really important to teach pronunciation as well as possible , because is the class when they acquire the new vocabulary.Unfortunadly some teachers often feel under prepared to teach pronunciation,for this reason, probably they not focus on it.Correct pronunciatiom helpsto the students to be better English speaker.


The grammar lesson was impressive .Aditionally, was grateful how students were producing and how they understood all the activities.be careful the vocabulary included in wrap up, because students can get confused.Provided vocabulary studied in class before ,because studntes not have a variarety of vocabulary.In other hand , some students present misbehave and naturally it interrump the class.Teachers need to be patient and intelligent to manage this problem.Inevitably misbehavior happens, but fortunately we can find a solution . I share with you a helpul tips to learn how controll it:


 The last listening class was really nice , we could see how the students was progressing . It remain me a principle that says: "The teacher should take the responsability for structuring activities clearly in the most appropiate way possible for successful completion of an activity .(Community Language Learning.page.92)This mean that we are the responsables to provide apropiate activities that allow students to faciloitate the target language. In another place, there is a point to take in consideration :teachers shouldnt let to play with them . I mean , in some situations, there are students who are not taking seriously the class , and they are doing that they want (similarly to misbehave).In more cases,students not see a teacher as leader because students want to do that they want 

Nowadays ,reading class is not a challenge , because we have been learnig by the time and by the classmates class , taking some ideas.I learned that using creativity to support the lesson is really efective .Creatively and and to develop creativity brings many benefits for the teacherand to the learners . Being creativite involves both generating new ideas and synthesising a variety of others peoples ideas into a new understanding . As we know ,children love materials and is necessary that we use ours minds to create something diferent to them.However ,usually we are lack time and ideas , but I will share a nice page that contain nice ideas .
 I would like to know is how some activities can be made in the classroom but it cannot interferencie with the time managnment 





UNIT 4. The body parts



UNIT 4 . PARTS OF THE BODY


Since we had three units teaching, we expected that now is not more difficult than before. We had been acquiring more experience and the feedback has been helping us a lot.

Talking in general about the vocabulary class in the unit 4 as first hand, the class was really nice, children catch the attention and nice flashcards was presented. Teachers make the effort to prepare materials using their hands and it helps us to support them in the lesson that they are teaching. Additionally, teachers should make short questions to the students in the moment when they are presenting new topic, because it allow them to keep activate. In another hand, is important to take in account that students need to work together. The teacher is the responsible of controlling all students working at the same time, because sometimes occur that teachers assign an activity , but not all of  them are working .In my own experience , I provided some worksheets to all students, but a girl was in  the trashcan with a sharpener and a pen , I saw her but unconsciously I though that she was working,unfortunaly all of them worked in the ejecices but no was the case of the little gril. Some students are distractive .It often happen . Now, I learned for the experiencie that teachers need to be conscious that all students are working in the task assingned.

  




In grammar class the experience is different to the others class, the aim is different but is as important as others. It was our second experience preparing grammar classes . Therefore, teachers should show more security presenting grammar structure.I kn

ew that is important pay attention when students are in practice , because in this stages they are internalizing ,recognicing the grammar structure, so that , depending the quality that they are acquiring , they will produce .If students make something worng ,such as misspealling , pronunciation we should correct them.. Kenneth Beare , a a ESL trainer and content developer explained that :“If I don’t allow students to make mistalkes,I will take away from the natural natural learning process required to achieve competency ( ).”This means that teacher should allow those mistakes because is natural .However, I consider that teacher need urgentely correct them but corrections should only made when students will recieved the most benefit , because if we don’t do that , their will acquire the target language in a wrong way ,and as a teachers we are not competent and need to be more prepared because as a Audiolingual method says in the page 43 that teachers acts as a facilitator reinforicing  and helping  students to acquiere the language.   

Listening class, probably could be one of the most difficult skills to teach.For this reason,we need to be careful and to be focus in the results that we pretend to get .In adittion, in this class good activities was provided, the audio was really good, how the activities was related to the audio and it was the key why students understood the listening , the process in which all of the activities had been working was effectively . Students were active and respond to all activities .Also, I would like to mention as I said before, teachers should make short questions.Teachers need to take in consideration that we don’t try to ask questions that they don’t know because they not understand us. “Speak less and modeling more” is a phrase that always we should be taken into account .



Finally, reading class is interesting, now we are familiar preparing  reading . The class was well prepared and the activities was well made.Primarly, there are some essential things related to the teacher’s profile. First, talking in the apareance teacher should  look like a teacher. Second, the teachers attitude is important. Teacher’s attitude and actions can leave lasting and impressions.Effective teachers genuinely care, like, accept and valued their students.These teachers demonstrate kindness, share responsibility, accept diverse,foster individualy instriucture and encourage creativity. As a result to this, students feel confortable and they will show respect to the teacher.In another hand,I knew that is so important to call students by theirnames.Tricia Drevets a writer specialized in education and communications explained that “We feel more valued and respected when someone remember ours names. When you use someone’s name,it shows that you see that person as individual”.


What I would like to know is how to provided differnets forms to motive students with the reading, In my case I condisder that it is one of the most difficult activity.
